Outstanding opportunity with a major international cement and building products group.Key role and part of the senior management team. Do you have potential beyond this role ?
You are responsible for managing the supply, handling and use of Alternative Fuels and Materials for the plant, meeting regulatory requirements and managing stakeholder needs. You are also tasked with the management and development of a small team, including an Environmental Engineer. As Environment Manager you lead the environmental management of the site and implementation of the Alternative Fuels and Materials (AFM) program. You are responsible for site environmental management, stakeholder engagement and the AFM program, in accordance with regulatory requirements and stakeholder needs. Delivery of these activities is supported by a small team, including a full time Environmental Engineer and Strategic Sourcing and Project Management resources as required. Your other responsibilities include monitoring the plant’s environmental compliance performance by leading reviews of key operational parameters & developing & implementing improvement plans. Liaising with Government and community bodies with respect to compliance monitoring and reporting. Developing strategies and plans for use of Alternative Fuels and Materials. Managing the optimal the use of Alternative Fuels and Materials. Liaising with Government and community bodies with respect to the AFM program. Contributing to maximising the plant’s efficiency and development by participating in management planning, operational reviews and providing qualified technical response to matters of operational performance. Assisting in maximising plant efficiency and performance by evaluating technological and strategic developments and recommending appropriate improvements or implementing growth projects. Implementation of growth-oriented projects and the management and implementation of new technology. You have a background in a similar role in a major heavy or industrial manufacturing facility, or perhaps from the waste collection and recovery industry, where there has been a strong environmental focus. Cement industry experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
